One of the World_SIG list members, Alex, offers up these thoughts on the article:
Nice read, although it's fraught with errors and the distinct stench of socialism. I'd say the most overpaid jobs in America are populated by lazy-ass, left-leaning members of the press; a full 90% of whom [if they bother] will vote for the nation's most prominent sociofascist, Hanoi John F'n Kerry.
Going directly to the top:
The author confuses CEOs of fund companies with fund managers who have a base salary supplemented by performance. In fact, all I've known...from Sir John Templeton [one of the most impressive men ever to grace the business and modern society] to the greenest entry-level shot-caller...wouldn't have it any other way.
And I'll mention that a number of my colleagues...damn fine, hard-working people...were murdered on September 11th. One, in the local CFP Society with me, hurt especially. He, and his father [a pioneer in the Certified Financial Planner movement], were first-class, highly-ethical advisors representing the best of our profession. But that doesn't mean that my friends and associates on the other end of an 800-number were any more deserving of their violent, painful, horrible deaths.
I don't consider my position influenced by a grudge...that's too simplistic. I want the bastards who pursue their fanatical jihad to be eliminated as sub-human vermin; their "beliefs" aren't important to me. Their actions are.
